About me

I started out as a Veterinary Assistant and from there worked for over a decade training and handling animals for film and print. For the film industry, a trainer needs to motivate the dog to perform a wide variety of behaviors, on cue, repeatedly and happily.  Often this required training a specific behavior or "trick" on the spot.  One of the wonderful things about dogs is when you ask them to do something, and you are very clear about what is expected, given the right motivation the dog will immediately begin to conform to this new expectation.  So my experience has been to take a variety of dogs that were largely unknown to me, with all types of dispositions, onto a set or on location that is unknown to them and get them to perform a variety of behaviors that he/she may or may not have been trained to do.

I thoroughly enjoy working with dogs and their people to help them improve the quality of their life together.  I can help you to communicate effectively, which will result in a different behavior from your dog.  If he/she is giving you negative or anti-social behaviors, we can change from this to a calmer dog that will listen to you.  Your dog can change quickly and happily.  Often the biggest change is the manner in which the owner is interacting with the dog.
