Behavior

If your dog is exhibiting unwanted or anti-social behavior; growling, biting, lunging, charging, difficult to walk on leash, dog aggressive, fearfull, jumps on your or your guests etc..., I can show you methods that will stop it, and more importantly, show you how to convey to your dog the polite, friendly, social behaviors that you do want them to engage in.  Showing our dog how to conduct themselves in our society makes for a dog that can be with us anywhere, anytime and the quality of life that results is something that I feel every dog deserves.

Obedience

Training is basically a bridge that we use to communicate with our pets, to convey our expectations of their behavior.   Most dogs don't speak English and most people don't speak "dog", so developing some form of mutual communication is essential.  Just as we would not let our children run out of control and risk social repercussions, we need to expect good social behavior from our dogs as well. We want our dogs relaxed, comfortable and happy whereever they are and whatever they do.

Tricks

We all enjoy showing off our dog doing tricks, but the best part is that the pride we feel is conveyed to our dogs.  Teaching simple tricks is a fun way to break up the routine "sit", "stay", "down" of obedience, but still reinforce giving directives to your dog and the dog following them.  I can show you and your dogs simple tricks like "spin", "dance", "sit up", "high five", or you can develop your own and take it as far as you want.  There is no end to this type of training. I like tricks because it's fun for both the owner and the dog, usually results in really positive, upbeat and often funny interactions between dog and owner and strengthens the bond between the two.
